Girls Empowerment Network is seeking volunteers to co-facilitate weekly programs with girls starting Fall 2021 through Spring 2022.

The mission of Girls Empowerment Network (GIRLS) is to ignite the power in girls by teaching them the skills to thrive and believe in their ability to be unstoppable. GIRLS equips girls in grades 3-12 with the skills they need to navigate girlhood; helps girls foster healthy, supportive bonds with one another; and surrounds girls with relatable role models who provide support, inspiration, and guidance.

Volunteering with Girls Empowerment Network Weekly Programs.

Girl Connect volunteers assist with the facilitation of interactive sessions which incorporate a research-based curriculum designed exclusively for girls in grades 3-12. As a Girl Connect volunteer, you will attend weekly sessions at an assigned local school and act as a co-facilitator alongside the GIRLS Program Coordinator/Manager, all while forming encouraging and caring relationships with the girls. Volunteers lead ice breakers, activities, facilitate discussions, and provide assistance to the GIRLS staff on-site.

Girl Connect groups are typically scheduled for 1.5-2 hours weekly, either during the school day (8AM-3PM, with girls in grades 6-12 who are directly referred to the program by school staff) or afterschool (3PM-5:30PM, with girls typically in grades 3-8 who are recruited to participate in the group.)

Important notes: You will be assigned to a specific school and will be required to commit to the same time and day every week for the entirety of the semester. Consistency is key for the girls we serve and we want to ensure that volunteers are able to commit to our programs and the girls they work with. If you are interested in joining the Girls Empowerment Network team as a direct service volunteer, we ask that you attend a day-long volunteer training session. Our next Volunteer Training will be held on Saturday, August 28 from 10:00AM-4:00PM.

I understand that this volunteer opportunity is only available to individuals who have been fully vaccinated. Additionally, I agree to wear a mask throughout this volunteer opportunity with Empowerment Network.
