Have 90 minutes, a car and a drive to make a change? Download our app and sign up to rescue perfectly good food from ending up in landfills and transport it to one of our nonprofit partners that fight food insecurity in our Greater Cincinnati community.
FAQs:
When do food rescues happen? Food rescues are scheduled Monday thru Saturday between 7am and 5pm. Most rescues take about an hour to complete.
Where do rescues happen? We rescue all across Cincinnati - as far north as Middletown, down to Florence. As far east as Batavia and west to the Indiana border. When you claim a rescue it gives you details of where to pick up the food, where to take it, and a a 1-2 hour time slot to complete the run.
What do I need to do a rescue? First off, you have to download the app to get started - it's super easy to use and gives you all the instructions for the rescue. Beyond the app you just need a vehicle to transport the rescue! Different rescues are different sizes - some can be transported in a tiny car & others are larger. It will indicate all those details and more on the app.
How do I get the app? Go to your app store and type in "Last Mile Food Rescue." It'll be the first one to pop up!

Did you know that 1 in 5 people in Cincinnati don't know where their next meal is coming from? Meanwhile as much as 40% of good food is thrown away due to surplus in grocery stores, distributors, restaurants, and event venues. This good food fills up landfills and lets off harmful greenhouse gases as it decomposes. We're here to put an end to food waste in Cincinnati.
Last Mile uses the power of technology to connect volunteer drivers to food rescue pick ups. Volunteers simply download an app, create a profile, and can start claiming rescues right away. We're the UBER of food rescue. Most rescues take under an hour to complete and anyone can do it with just a smart phone, a vehicle, and an hour to spare!
