Are you looking for a creative and welcoming place to volunteer your time?

We're looking for Front Desk Greeters to be the first smiling faces that folks see when they enter BARN. As a Greeter, you will warmly welcome people, answer incoming calls, and field general questions. Our staff is onsite to support you and training is provided.

We have an easy online calendar for signing up. Here's a look at the shifts we're filling:

Shifts for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday:

8:30am to 12:00pm
12:00pm to 3:30pm
3:30pm to 5:30pm*

Shift for Thursdays
8:30am to 12:00pm
12:00pm to 3:30pm
3:30pm to 5:30pm*
5:30pm to 7:30pm*

*Youth Volunteers cannot sign up for a shift after 4:30pm.

BARN’s mission is to build and support an open, intergenerational community of artisans and makers who are dedicated to learning, teaching, sharing, and inspiring one another with creativity, craftsmanship, and community service.

Description

Our goal is to create a true community center, using craft as a magnet to bring together people who would not normally know one another or have opportunities to collaborate. We want to connect seniors eager to pass on skills with young people just starting out. Working side-by-side, participants will share tips, ask questions, and lend a hand when needed, building trust and new friendships. Community service projects done in BARN’s workshops will widen the circle of connections even more. The result will be a more resilient community-one where people have hands-on skills and are committed to helping one another.
