Grant Writer - Volunteer Position

Grind + Growth, St. Louis, MO

Do you have experience with grants?

Grind + Growth is looking for an experienced volunteer grant-proposal researcher and writer to handle tasks related to fundraising efforts involving foundations.

Expectations

You will work remotely and on your own schedule, though we require a minimum commitment of 5-8 hours a week. Our staff are full-time working volunteers, we communicate mostly through email. All staff are required to respond to emails on a daily basis. If you possess a high level of self-motivation, work well independently, strive for excellence, and can commit quality time per week on a regular basis to help achieve team goals, we’d like to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • ● Prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundation and corporate sources

  • ● Perform prospect research on foundations and corporations to evaluate prospects for

    corporate and foundation grants

  • ● Assess our organization's programs, goals and financial needs

  • ● Create timely and accurate reports of existing grant-funded projects

  • ● Assist with other fundraising projects as requested

    Requirements

  • ● 2+ years of experience with grant writing

  • ● Proficient Internet research skills

  • ● Familiarity with Foundation Directory Online or other databases

  • ● Ability to meet deadlines

  • ● Strong writing and communication skills

  • ● Excellent writing and editing skills

  • ● Interest in public health, food, and nutrition

  • ● Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

    Compensation Details: ​This is an unpaid/volunteer position. Hours are flexible and can be full-time or part-time, adapting to the candidate’s availability and class schedule (if necessary).
