The Seattle Housing Authority’s (SHA) mission is to enhance the Seattle community by creating and sustaining decent, safe, and affordable living environments that foster stability and increase self-sufficiency for people with low income.
Seattle Housing Authority has nine technology centers located in different SHA-owned public housing properties. The labs are managed by SHA’s Computer Lab & Volunteer Coordinator and we are looking to recruit computer lab technicians to monitor and maintain computer labs located in different parts of Seattle.
Computer lab technicians will help conduct detailed inventories and OS updates. We are also planning to replace most of the computer lab equipment and will need help removing equipment and setting up new network systems. Computers use a mix of Microsoft Windows, iOS, ChromeOS, Linux and Gallium.
Skills needed to be a lab technician include knowledge of Microsoft operating system and basic knowledge of Microsoft office applications. Plus, they must know to operate computer-related equipment such as monitors, printers, speakers, and scanners.
Preferred candidates can problem solve/troubleshoot tech issues and think critically. We value the ability to work independently and are looking to you for your technical knowledge about hardware and/or software.
