Let's do some digging!

The public food forest in Luverne, MN, Prairie Ally Outdoor Center, needs volunteers to tend to plants and keep the food forest, prairie, and annual gardens looking spectacular for the education, recreation, food, and habitat that the site offers. We prefer 1 -2 hour per week seasonal commitments. Groups and individuals for one time events are also welcome.
We have recurring group volunteer times 6-8pm Tuesdays June-September...come as you are for that, no RSVP needed for Tuesdays!

Mission Statement

To empower people to feed themselves through agroforestry, edible landscape design, and education.

Description

Our goal is to encourage, empower, and equip people to plant and care for edible plants all over. We intend to do this by planting public food forests; implementing programs that add edible trees and shrubs to existing public landscaping; designing low-maintenance edible landscapes for private clients in South Dakota, Minnesota and beyond; and educating the public about planting, harvesting, preserving, and eating low-maintenance edible landscapes through classes, workshops, and online resources.
