Marin County non-profit LITA recognizes the benefits of music's 'universal language' as a way to connect individuals from all walks of life. Are you a student or an amateur musician looking to hone your skills in front of an appreciative, smaller audience? Are a you a professional musician who has some time to share your talent? Do you miss your choir days? Bridging Thru Music can provide you with opportunities to perform and socially connect with our older adult friends in their care communities bringing toe-tapping smiles and joy! Be part of this quality-of-life enhancing inter-generational program as a solo performer, part of a duo, bring in a band, small ensemble or lead a sing-a-long. Founded in 1975, nonprofit organization LITA (Love is the Answer) of Marin county that strives to improve the quality of life for older adults living in care facilities by providing volunteer friends for visits and a variety of volunteer programs developed to create meaningful connections.

Due to Covid, LITA coordinates:
- Card & Letter writing
- Supports Phone & Video Chats
- Loans out e-tablets in to in-need facilities to help residents maintain social connections with family and friends
- Donates resourced items to facility's for resident engagement such as magazines, radios, quilts, scarves, games, puzzles, arts/crafts supplies.
Pre and Post Pandemic: LITA works with and places volunteers in retirement and long-term care licensed communities. Through volunteer recruitment, screening and interviewing, volunteers are assessed for volunteer visiting readiness. Pets are evaluated and assessed for the Pet Connection program based on professional pet agency guidelines.Requirements to Volunteer:
