Our local Ogden, Utah, club was founded on May 27, 1939, and has carried on the Soroptimist tradition of helping women and girls improve their access to educational and professional training.
Our current programs include our Live Your Dream Awards and Dream It Be It Career Support Program for girls. Other community service we offer includes: Ogden Street Cleaning, After Care Kits for Women, and Christmas Stockings for Kids.
How You Can Help:
1. We need your help promoting our Live Your Dream Awards to eligible women in the community:
The Live Your Dream Awards offers three levels of cash awards. Eligible applicants can submit their application between August 1 - November 15. Ultimately, a Live Your Dream Awards finalist has the potential receive up to $16,000 to help offset tuition costs, purchase books, get transportation, or find reliable childcare so she can worry less about how to pay her bills and focus on reaching her dreams.
2. We need your help launching our Dream it Be It program online and planning an in-person graduation ceremony for the girls who complete the program.
This free program gives girls the tools they need to achieve their education and career goals, empowering them to break cycles of poverty, violence, and abuse.
3. We need your help with community service projects. Come help us on our street cleaning days to keep Ogden's downtown area beautiful, help us collect and assemble hygiene kits for women, collect and donate diapers and baby supplies to families receiving home visiting services, stuff stockings for children staying at the Lantern House this Christmas, and more!
4. Finally, we need your help raising funds in order to continue our programs! Join our fundraising committee to volunteer in planning and executing our annual fundraisers.

Soroptimist was formed in 1921 in Oakland, California. Our name, loosely translated from the Latin, means best for women. Today, we have about 160,000 members and supporters in 21 countries and territories. We are one of four federations that make up Soroptimist International, which has clubs in more than 120 countries throughout the world.
