Hospice Vigil Volunteer
Heartland Hospice is looking for individuals to provide a supportive presence to patients and their families in their time of need. Vigil Volunteers are trained to provide companionship to hospice patients and their families during the patients final days and hours. Volunteers need to be comfortable with the dying process and be able to maintain a calm and peaceful environment. Volunteers may play quiet music, read or just hold a patients hand to provide support.
Hours and locations needed vary and are often short notice. Volunteers will be provided a full trainings prior to sitting vigil.
