Do you know how to use a 3D printer? Want to share your expertise and love for tech with your community? The Arthur F. Turner Community Library in West Sacramento is seeking reliable, experienced volunteers to assist patrons of all ages - including children - with using the Lulzbot Taz 6 3D printer with Cura Lulzbot software.
You must have experience using a 3D printer and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Tasks will include setting up the 3D printer, instructing people of various ages and skill levels in use of the 3D printer, and troubleshooting problems. Experience with creating or modifying 3D models is a big plus but not required. Ability to speak Spanish or Russian is highly desired.
Hours are flexible, but you will need to commit to a regular shift. Visit https://yolocountylibrary.org/turner/ for the most up-to-date open hours.
County policy requires that all applicants 18 and over must pass a background check. Teens 16 and up will be considered, with a reference from a teacher or other nonrelated adult. This is a long term assignment and not suitable for youth who are seeking short term assignments to fulfill a high school community service requirement.
