Serenity Hospice relies on volunteer support to provide excellent end-of-life care to each patient and family.
By being a hospice volunteer, you can gain great personal satisfaction from knowing that you have made an impact in another person’s life at the time it matters most.

Volunteers can work in all phases of hospice, providing clerical and administrative assistance as well as direct patient and family care. Many volunteers are introduced to hospice through the death of a family member or loved one, but others come to gain experience as medical students, help out their community, or simply to lend a hand to someone in need.

There are many ways to help! Some volunteer opportunities include:

  • Visiting patients- companionship, doing a puzzle, reading a book, spending time with hospice patients
  • Vigil support- sitting near a patient's bedside as they are passing away
  • Office or administrative work- filing, copying, putting together cards or packets, putting away supplies
  • Supporting family members- helping with light housework or chores, giving a caregiver a break, running an errand
  • Supporting the hospice bereavement team- bereavement cards, bereavement phone calls

Mission Statement

Doing whatever it takes when it matters most. No One Dies Alone, Afraid or in Pain.

Description

We are privileged to provide end-of-life care and are dedicated to doing "Whatever It takes, when it matters most." We are rigorous in the ongoing evaluation of our performance and work to improve our process and results every day. We are committed to acting with integrity and having a positive impact on everyone with whom we come in contact. Using a holistic approach, Serenity Palliative Care and Hospice provides physical, emotional and spiritual support to patients (and their families) experiencing end-of-life transition. We believe that no one should die alone, afraid or in pain. Pain management is our main priority and alternative therapies are offered as a complementary means of treating pain. Serenity is also a proud partner of the We Honor Veterans Program. Serenity has developed our own V.I.P. Program as a special level of care designed for Veterans.
