Friendly volunteers are needed to provide short in-room visits or outdoor garden visits with patients recovering from acute illness/injuries at Gaylord Hospital. Volunteer will provide short duration in-room visits that may include conversational social support, reading, playing cards/games with patients. Multi-lingual not required, but is a plus.

Description
Gaylord Specialty Healthcare is a rehabilitation-focused, nonprofit health system that provides inpatient and outpatient care for people at every point in their journey from illness or injury to maximum recovery.
Gaylord is widely recognized for its leadership in treating patients with a spinal cord injury, brain Injury, or stroke and those requiring pulmonary, cardiac, or complex medical care, as well as sports-related injuries. It is the only rehabilitation system licensed as a long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) in Connecticut that is accredited by CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) for both inpatient and outpatient programs.
The system is anchored by Gaylord Hospital and includes Gaylord Outpatient Services and Gaylord Physical Therapy. Together, these entities deliver a complete continuum of rehab care driven by technology, research, clinical experience, and compassion.
