Whether you are a recent graduate seeking to gain experience in the global health sector or a seasoned professional desiring to give back, the project manager volunteer position at HERZ Movement will offer you a fulfilling experience in contributing to the growth of a young organization that is changing the lives of girls in Africa.

HERZ was awarded the IRS 501c Tax Exempt status earlier in the year and is in the process of building its institutional capacity to grow its revenue and expand its impact in Africa and around the world. The project manager will support the HERZ board in preparing for meetings, documenting meeting resolutions, and keeping track of action implemented to fulfil board resolutions.

Duties

Supporting Board Meetings - 30%

  • Coordinate with the President and the Secretary in developing and circulating meeting agendas and other meeting materials.
  • Take minutes during meetings.
  • Ensure minutes are appropriately edited and filled.
Manage the work plan - 50%
  • Ensure that action items from the meetings are triaged to appropriate sub-committees.
  • Develop and manage work plans for all sub-committees, ensuring that planned actions are implemented timely.
  • Assist sub-committees in preparing reports for the board meeting.
Other business areas of interest - 20%
  • Contribute to the work of one or several sub-committees that is of interest.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the website.

Description

Our organization is young. It was formed in August, 2020 and awarded the IRS tax exempt status in December 2020. We are now beginning to set up our organizational systems, including developing out strategic plan, branding and marketing plan, fundraising plan and other operational systems. We seek a web designer to help us develop a website.
