If you have a passion for caring for others and are looking for a way to make a difference in people’s lives, consider becoming a hospice volunteer. Our volunteers are an important part of our hospice care team, helping improve the quality of life for our patients, their families and their caregivers.
Activities with patients, like reading and writing letters, playing games, participating in pet therapy, scrapbooking or other crafts - and just plain companionship.
Provide emotional support for the patient - and the family - such as providing breaks for family and friend caregivers, making spiritual prayer calls, attending funerals and memorial services and offering companionship to loved ones.
Due to the federal mandate regarding Covid-19, proof of vaccination is required.

Description
Hospice is a health care program that provides physical, emotional, and spiritual support to patients with life-limiting illnesses to enable the best quality of life for the patient.
Hospice care allows the patient to live the remainder of his or her life at home in comfort and with dignity. Hospice provides emotional and educational support to the patient’s family to make their remaining time with the patient as meaningful as possible. Hospice also provides grief support to family members for up to 13 months following the death of the patient.
A hospice volunteer is a special part of the hospice team. They are people who wish to make a difference in the lives of the terminally ill or those who are grieving by giving their time to assist a patient or family member.
