Seeking President of Bunker Project - Veterans Housing

Bunker Project directly assists recently transitioned Veterans in the Las Vegas area by providing housing and rent forgiveness during summer months (when B.A.H. housing funds are not provided to vets by the VA).

Our current President is stepping down to directly manage the housing administrative duties, and conduct research. We are open to applications for new a new president. Being located in the Las Vegas area is helpful but not required.

We are looking for a candidate who:

• Will report to the board with basic quarterly reports and a more complete annual report.
• Is familiar with non-profit compliance requirements.
• Will meet (virtually, by phone, or if appropriate... in person) with partners, prospective and past donors.
• Will coordinate with appropriate boardmembers on initiatives like
  • Volunteer -management, grants, and donor development, budgeting.
• Will stay read up on Veterans issues.
• Can serve in this role on a volunteer basis.

As this is a small non-profit, the ideal candidate will be able to dedicate at least 10 hours a month to the Bunker Project.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about non-profit efforts, and care about the challenges that face Veterans who are transitioning back into civilian life from difficult backgrounds.

What will the president actually do?
The President will provide quarterly and one annual update to the board. They will work on initiatives surrounding donor development, service delivery to target Veteran population, managing volunteer efforts, keep and maintain a budget, and will work with various team members to ensure wins from business sponsorships, large donations, grant programs, or corporate giving. The President will be in a unique position to identify other initiatives that they are passionate about and (with board approval) will be able to architect and monitor those initiatives. In no small way, the President will shape the entire effort.
