We Connect The Dots (WCTD) is a non-profit which looks to close the digital divide through collaboration with the community, education, government and the technology industry. Our mission is to excite, inform and educate students about Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) careers. WCTD impacts students at a local, national and global level and our programs create a hunger for learning that empowers students to find their own paths to success.
As an education organization we create collaborative curriculum design projects that enable real-world workforce skills development. Our latest project is to update our website design project. This project has been ongoing and we are now in need of a resource that understands Amazon Amplify and can share that knowledge with our team of dev volunteers to continue building our project. As a volunteer you will be working with one or more students or other volunteers on this project.
We are in need of someone with strong Amplify experience that understands how to properly configure Amplify to create a development environment for a React App that has multiple applications for development from Dev to Test to Production. This will enable our organization to use the test environment for teaching, the dev environment for building out new features, and the ability to push from test to dev to production Amplify application.
Having experience with integrating database backend with Amplify would be a plus.

Description
The skills needed to succeed in todays complicated work environments challenge employers to find the resources with the right skills to be successful. We Connect The Dots will provide the necessary work skills needed for students to build strong careers in STEAM roles. By engaging in a partnership with communities, industry leaders, students and teachers, we will reduce the number of jobs that are filled by students outside the US. Creating a greater awareness to parents and students of the career possibilities and the skills necessary to succeed. Through an accelerated program and project based learning students will gain the experience that matches todays real world careers.
