Seeking a Big Sister for Lucy, a 7 yo girl who lives in Somerville and who is being raised by a single mom from Eritrea. The family has few local supports. Additionally, her older sister is about to leave for college. Her mom would like to see Lucy enrolled as a Little to give her an adult mentor who can provide enriching experiences, more social time and a new perspective. Lucy struggles with anxiety, so a Big Sister would need to be sensitive to this. In her free time, Lucy loves drawing, crafting, going to the park, going on walks, watching YouTube videos, reading, and playing with her Barbies. Her family is open to the race, religion, and sexual orientation of Lucy's Big. Lucy presents as serious, earnest, and direct. The right Big for Lucy will be kind, creative, patient, and responsible, someone who will enjoy hands-on craft projects and will nurture Lucy's creativity.

The right volunteer will be a young woman from any religion, ethnicity or background, between the ages of 21-35, who would enjoy hanging out and doing activities with a "great kid." Matches meet twice a month for a couple of hours, mostly on the weekends, and make a year commitment. Match support is provided by Clinical Match Specialists.
