Description

Pequot Library was founded in 1889 by Virginia Marquand Monroe and Elbert B. Monroe with the mission to deliver library services and programs that are "free as air to all."

A destination listed on the National Register of Historic Places and dubbed a Connecticut Treasure, the Library boasts a robust Special Collections of rare books, manuscripts, and archives, and a calendar of events that offers cultural and enrichment programming for all ages.   • As much time as you have. Our hours are very flexible with some volunteers coming in as early as 7:30 am. Not an early bird? No problems, we have volunteers here late afternoons and on the weekends. We are very flexible!
