UN Women USA LA is an independent non-profit, 501c3 organization that supports the mission of UN Women and social, political, and economic equality for women and girls around the world. Our members and supporters are men, women, and children in cities around the country who give their time and resources to support a world where women of all ages have access to education and employment opportunities, and sustainable livelihoods that enable them to live free of gender-based violence.

Call for Volunteers!

UN Women USA LA advocates on behalf of UN Women locally throughout the Los Angeles region. UN Women USA LA is currently seeking a motivated and dedicated fund development director and (1) Fund Development Co-Coordinator who will be assigned the responsibility of developing and raising the Chapter’s funds. UN Women USA LA Fund Development team members responsibilities include:

• Develop and implement a sustainable framework for raising funds including researching and identifying potential partners/donors, foundations, and grants for the chapter’s development;
• Research, identify and solicit potential partners/sponsors for events and programs;
• Develop and maintain sponsorship database;
• Cultivate sustainable relationships;
• Support the Treasurer in efforts to create an annual budget for the following year to the Board one (1) month before presenting it at the annual meeting;
• Develop and grow the strategic outreach of the chapter;
• Engage local partners, local stakeholders, small businesses, corporate partners (local); community organizations, and activist organizations;
• Develop and encourage monthly donors amongst membership;
• Expand the partnering capacity of the chapter throughout the region;
• Research local programs and events for women and girls in order to ensure the development of relevant and worthwhile projects; and (j) scheduling canvassing, petitioning, and tabling events.

Desired Profile:

• Strong interest in supporting Gender Equality and the Empowerment of all Women and Girls.
• Experience working in Development is an asset to leadership consideration but not essential for the team.
• Experience in a Non-Profit Organization is an asset.
• Proficiency in Word/Excel;
• Strong working knowledge of google docs, google hangout, and Skype;
• Excellent communication and organizational skills;
• Open-minded, proactive, friendly, and a team player
• Dedicated and motivated with a strong interest in Gender Equality.
• Located in the Greater Los Angeles area
• Time requirement 5-10 hours per week.
