Help us spread the word about services and resources available to help older adults optimize well-being as they age. Be a part of an engaging and inspiring team of volunteers in the Twin Cities!
As a volunteer ambassador, you’ll form a bridge between your community and Trellis. Share information about a variety of free services offered by the Minnesota Board on Aging and Trellis:
- One-on-one Medicare health insurance counseling, scheduled at times that work best for you.
- Senior LinkAge Line(r) referrals to services.
- Educational presentations on a wide range of topics.
- Juniper health and wellness classes, offered in-person and online.
We’ll also count on you to provide insights about how to best connect with your community.

Trellis is a nonprofit organization that provides services, information and connections that help people age well. We are innovators in the field of aging, and are working to offer and create new products, services and relationships to meet the changing needs of a growing population of older adults. We are committed to serving our aging communities with equity and inclusivity. In our role as the designated Area Agency on Aging for the Twin Cities metro area, we serve individuals and organizations in Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott and Washington counties. Many of Trellis’ initiatives and activities have a broader geographic reach, across the state of Minnesota and, in some cases, across the nation.

- Understanding that volunteers have busy lives, we have developed the Ambassador role to fit with the volunteer’s schedule as the hours are variable.
- In terms of training and support, we ask for an initial physically-distanced, 1-hour orientation session at the Trellis office and a monthly check-in call via Zoom/phone.
