ORGANIZATION: Arthritis Foundation

Community Outreach volunteers support local Arthritis Foundation efforts and connect with their local arthritis community to share opportunities, support, and resources. Volunteer as little or as much time as you’d like - your choice!

Volunteers in this role can either work independently or join a team of volunteers who feel comfortable talking to people about their arthritis experience and are willing to reach out to their networks and new community partners to build awareness of the Arthritis Foundation’s life-changing resources. Training materials provided.

In our state alone, more than 700,000 Virginians have activity limitations due to arthritis. One in 4 adults and 1 in 3 veterans have doctor diagnosed arthritis. Help us help those who live with arthritis every day.

How Community Outreach Volunteers Help:

  • Identify ways to promote the Arthritis Foundation’s local programs and resources
  • Build relationships with healthcare providers to drive patient referrals to the Arthritis Foundation
  • Cultivate relationships with community organizations (business networks, faith communities, service clubs, social groups, etc.) to build awareness of the Arthritis Foundation
  • Work collaboratively with volunteer committees to connect with people living with arthritis.
  • Manage processes for contacting those seeking information to welcome them to local programs and events.
