Are you available to invest in the lives of Lee's Summit youth? If so, The Tutoring Club @ Deerbrook, now entering its 3rd year, is looking for volunteer tutors to provide academic assistance, mentorship, and encouragement to a Kindergarten through 6th grade student. You will be matched with the same student for the duration of the club year, which is October 2023 to April 2024, for a total of 24 weeks. You will meet with your student for a one-hour time slot on Mondays or Tuesdays between 4:00 and 6:30 pm, based upon your availability. Training and on-going support is provided. Description
The Tutoring Club @ Deerbrook is an initiative established in partnership with Deerbrook Covenant Church to invest in the lives of Lee's Summit youth, their families, and the community. As a Partner in Education with Meadow Lane Elementary School, Deerbrook has the heart and resources for this program.

- Background Check
- Must be at least 18
- Orientation or Training
- One hour a week from October 2023 to April 2024. There will also be an interview and required training prior to being paired with a student.
- Knowledge of basic reading, writing, and math skills. Ability to work with youth in a respectful and caring manner. Ability and desire to motivate youth to improve their academic skills. Ability to set and maintain clear boundaries.
