POSITION DESCRIPTION
Special Olympics Louisiana is seeking Local Program Committee Members for Lafayette. Committee Members are designated volunteer representatives of SOLA who assist with implementing Special Olympics activities such as sports training, competitions and health initiatives for adults and children with intellectual disabilities. These members play a vital role in making the Special Olympics local program a success!
Primary Duties:
- Assist the committee in implementing and managing Special Olympic local activities.
- Provide support to help recruit, train and manage local athletes and volunteers.
- Aid in planning and supervising fundraising events as needed.
- Maintain and submit proper records in a timely manner for participating athletes and volunteers.
Experience:
- Prior experience with a nonprofit organization or sports organization is preferred.
- Strong communication skills are essential.
- All applicants must live in Lafayette.
