FosterHope’s mission is to be a leader in providing therapeutic foster care services to children, teens,
and families and to be an instrument in healing of spirit, mind, and body of the youth in care to help
them reach their fullest potential in a safe and nurturing environment.

We are currently looking for individuals to volunteer in our new Foster2Foster mentorship program. You must be at least 21, have a history of adverse childhood experiences and worked to over come them. We are particularly looking for people who have experience in the foster or juvenile justice system but anyone is welcome to apply. The goal of the program is to provide peer to peer mentoring to
current foster/probation youth ages 12 and up to make a positive impact on their lives. Mentors will
participate in pre-service training, have ongoing training, and support, and meet with their mentees 4-6
hours per month. They will also have the opportunity to participate on a foster youth advisory
committee. We are looking for someone who can make a year-long commitment to support
foster/probation youth and their development.

Mentors will participate in monthly groups addressing concerns, strategies that are working, and
challenges. Mentors will also be given the option of weekly one-on-one supervision as the needs arise.

Mentors will engage the youth in positive, esteem building activities at least twice a month,
personalized and targeted to the youth’s interests. We will offer continuous support, check-ins and
assessments. Activities will include hands on teaching programs, sports, arts, outdoor activities, and
adventures. Mentors will also be encouraged to attend other important events in the youth’s life such as
graduation.

Requirements include:
One year commitment
Background check
Meet with mentees 4-6 hrs. a month
Ongoing trainings
