Job Description

Job Title: Front Desk Volunteer

Status: Erlanger Location: Data Entry / Customer Service Position (unpaid)

Reports To: Site Operations Director

Date: 6/23/21

POSITION SUMMARY:

This volunteer position is a critical role that enables us to ensure our organization runs smoothly during business hours. We are looking for some consistent help with data entry into a case management database. Additional administrative tasks and pantry support will also be part of the role.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Answering the phones. This requires answering question about our hours, how to make thrift store donations, the process to sign-up for our pantry programs, and scheduling appointments.
• Managing the front door by greeting volunteers and customers.
• Registering customers for our services. This entails collecting some paperwork and entering data into our case management portal.
• Helping assemble emergency food requests in the pantry.

The hours are below.

Monday - Friday

9 am - 12 pm

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must embrace the mission of Be Concerned, Inc.
• Excellent written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Must be comfortable with basic data entry skills and have a focus on the details.
• Multi-tasking is sometimes required.
• Displays a positive attitude, shows empathy for people and community, demonstrates presence, self-confidence, common sense and good listening ability.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
