Be a Big Brother to Josh, an 8 year old boy from Roslindale. Josh is a Jewish child of color who is adopted and is being raised by a single mom. He has a history of depression and anxiety, and is very social. He enjoys sports, animals, fishing, skipping rocks at the pond, playgrounds, biking, swimming, walking on the beach and hiking.Josh could benefit from a positive male role model, who is extroverted, consistent, flexible, and attuned to issues of identity and mental health.
The right volunteer ideally will be a young man of color from any religion or background, between the ages of 21-35, who likes sports and would enjoy hanging out and doing activities with a "great kid." Matches meet twice a month for a couple of hours, mostly on the weekends, and make a year commitment. Match support is provided by Clinical Match Specialists.
