Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Boston

Seeking Big Brother for Avraham, an 8 year old boy living in Brooklinebeing raised by a single mother from Russia. The family is Modern Orthodox. Avraham has high functioning anxiety and learning differences. He is socially isolated and doesn’t have very many friends, making him feel lonely. He enjoys Roblox, taking walks, going to the playground, and playing chess. The right Big Brother for him will be energetic, playful, provide Avraham with a positive connection, build confidence, practice social skills, and help explore other interests. His Big will be comfortable with Avraham developing social cues and learning to understand the perspective of others, be understanding of his black and white thinking, and be patient and willing to engage with his current narrow interests.

The right volunteer will beJewish and between the ages of 21-35, who would enjoy hanging out and doing activities with a "great kid." Matches meet twice a month for a couple of hours, mostly on the weekends, and make a year commitment. Match support is provided by Clinical Match Specialists.
