ORGANIZATION: Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Boston

  • 2 people are interested

Seeking Big Brother for Avraham, an 8-year-old boy living in Brookline and being raised by a single mother from Russia. The family is Modern Orthodox. Avraham is socially isolated and doesn’t have very many friends, making him feel lonely. He enjoys Roblox, taking walks, going to the playground, and playing chess. The right mentor for him will be energetic, patient, and playful, and will be comfortable supporting a child who has anxiety and autism with low support needs. The ideal match will provide Avraham with social connection while helping him build confidence, practice social skills, and explore other interests.

The right volunteer will be Jewish and between the ages of 21-35, who would enjoy hanging out and doing activities with a "great kid." Matches meet twice a month for a couple of hours, mostly on the weekends, and make a year commitment. Match support is provided by Clinical Match Specialists.
