About ALLIANCE FOR SUPPORTIVE HOUSING
Location:
13140 Coit RD, Suite 362, DALLAS, TX 75240, US
Mission Statement
Developing permanent affordable housing for adults with serious mental illness.
Description
Twenty years ago, a group of parents discussed the housing needs for their loved ones and others living with serious mental illness. They envisioned independent living as the foundation for a housing plan. But they knew an apartment wasn’t enough. It would need to come with supports. The supports would include family, volunteers, clinicians, mental health advocates and agencies. Iris Place would become its name.
After 20 years, the original Iris Place has proven supported living in its truest sense works.
Iris Place has demonstrated the long-term sustainability of its effective housing model. To build the next Iris Place our architect has reported we need $3 million.
That’s a lot of money. It hasn’t been easy, but I’m confident that a great majority of you would like to see Iris Place II built. We own the land and have foundation’s support. We need You.
