Summary

We are looking for a responsible, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic IT intern. This intern will assist with the technology (PCs, laptops, iMacs, etc.), software, hardware, and related equipment necessary to keep our organization running effectively and efficiently. The intern will work under the direction of our IT Director and facilitate tasks related to the IT functions of our organization as assigned.


The ideal intern will have a background in information technology, software, and hardware management, willingness to work with high-functioning adults with autism, and an eagerness to support our organization's mission of helping adults with autism reach their personal and professional goals.


The internship will take place at our center in Altamonte Springs.

Responsibilities
  • This person will be responsible for setting up PCs, laptops and iMacs for staff and participants, ensuring that the appropriate software, including Adobe, Creative Cloud, Google Docs and Google Drive for Desktop, are installed.
  • They will troubleshoot computer or printer issues, ensure the network is property working and that each device can connect to it, and may help set up hard such as printers, including ink and toner, cordless phones, VoIP phones or Wifi extenders.
  • They will manage G Suite through adding or removing users, resetting passwords, managing Barracuda Security, and making sure emails are encrypted as needed.
  • The intern may also need to contact facility maintenance for issues beyond your scope such as A/C, power outages, repairs and maintenance to office.
  • They will ensure equipment is cleaned, sanitized and charged for the next day.
  • They must be be able to protect private and confidential information.

Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of and experience with IT, installing hardware and software, managing software (such as Google Drive, Adobe, and Creative Cloud) is strongly preferred.
  • Attention to detail, responsibility, and respect for the company's property and technology systems is necessary.
  • The ability to follow directions promptly and respectfully is necessary.
  • Must demonstrate empathy, patience, and friendliness while working with high-functioning adults with autism.
