ORGANIZATION: Montour Falls Library

The Montour Falls Library is seeking student volunteers for the summer. Volunteers under the age of 18 must have parental approval and cannot work more than four (4) hours per day. As a general rule, the Montour Falls Library does not accept volunteers under the age of fourteen (14) years old. Student volunteers may not work without direct supervision of a staff member or a designated adult volunteer.

Any students interested in becoming a volunteer should complete a volunteer application. Applications can be found on our website at http://montourfallslibrary.org/about/volunteers/ or by asking a staff member the next time you visit. Once an application is submitted, potential volunteers will be interviewed by a member of the staff to evaluate skillsets and interests.

Typical Tasks for Student Volunteers:
Emptying the outside drop box and returning materials, shelving and alphabetizing books and movies, assisting with new displays, light cleaning, assisting with programs, and more.

Hours & Availability: We are seeking student volunteers that are available for 2-3 hour shifts between 2pm and 5pm Monday-Friday, and/or available Saturdays until 1pm. Volunteering outside of this time is possible. Please speak to a staff member.

In respect for the comfort of staff and the many young children we see each day, we recommend that our volunteers, if able, have the COVID-19 vaccination at this time. We understand that some may choose not to be inoculated for personal, religious, or health reasons.

Please contact the library directly for more information at (607) 535-7489.
