The Sustainable Housing Engagement Coordinator will support the financial stability and growth of our families by ensuring that they remain safely and stably housed as the community recovers from the economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.


  • Applicants must be 18+ and have some college education
  • Experience in community service is preferred


  • This is a full-time, paid AmeriCorps VISTA position that will run for one year starting August 30, 2021
  • VISTAs are paid $513.94 bi-weekly through AmeriCorps living allowance system
  • VISTAs have the choice of an Education Award or End of Service Stipend that is awarded to the associates at the end of the program among other benefits
  • CHWC will provide $500 per month housing allowance in one of CHWC's rental units; In the case that a CHWC unit is unavailable, CHWC will pay a cash housing stipend directly to the landlord

Job duties:

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assess current engagement practices meant to ensure housing & financial stability for CHWC families
  • Define goals and develop a system of tracking housing & financial stability for CHWC families
  • Outline and define a Sustainable Housing Engagement Plan for CHWC families including external and internal collaboration, goals and metrics and how they will be tracked, and training and equipment needed to implement the plan
  • Define a calendar of engagement for outreach events to families included in the plan
  • Develop a manual of strategies and procedures to implement the plan
  • Engage and prepare stakeholders to implement the plan, including CHWC staff and external partners
  • Evaluate the plan
