Help Needed for Sweet Rockwell!!

Rockwell needs a new foster home immediately!!! He is a big, old, mellow guy that needs a loving foster home. He is sweet once he gets to know you but he is wary of strangers, especially of men. We are looking for a female foster who is home most of the day to give Rockwell the love and attention he deserves.
Unfortunately, in rescue, we come across dogs who have a traumatic past and Rockwell is no exception. We believe he came from a situation of domestic abuse; as a result, he is very trusting of one person (typically female) and becomes protective of her. Rockwell does have a bite history so when he is out for a walk or with new people, he must wear a muzzle. We are unaware of all his triggers, so best to always keep him on a muzzle anytime he is in public or around people he is unfamiliar with. He also takes medication for pain and his joints, as he is an older dog. Rockwell will need to be in a home where he is the only animal; he doesn't like other dogs or cats.
If you meet Rockwell, you'll learn pretty fast that he's a great dog who's had a rough past. This sweet senior deserves to live in a loving foster home with a loving foster parent!! He loves the beach and he'll make an amazing buddy and mellow companion for any single ladies looking for a new best friend :)
Reminders for fostering for Ace of Hearts:
- You must be 21
- Please no cats or other pets in the house
- Please no children in the house
- With Rockwell, ideally no roommates or family members in the house

We do NOT take dogs in ... we rescue only from shelters. The Ace of Hearts Foundation is in memory of "Ace", a wonderful American Bull dog who was rescued from death, and touched the lives of many! (Especially founder Kari Whitman!) We rescue all breeds...and don't discriminate against any!

We need Standby Volunteers daily!
Emergency Volunteers/Stand By's
This may seem like the least helpful, but actually our stand-by's always save us & the dogs! We need you!
You give us the days and times you are available and we add you to a list. Then, if something comes up that day- you will be the first one we call. This helps us reach out to volunteers with availability that day instead of calling our entire volunteer list. If there is a day, half a day, or even a few hours you can volunteer to be placed on a "call in case of an emergency" list, let us know! This can be for many different tasks, and almost
always requires some driving. We try very hard to plan things in advance, but if there is a last minute opportunity to save a life, get a dog adopted, or a foster emergency, it helps to have a handful of people we reach out to first!
We are in desperate need of standby volunteers!
