Your local American Red Cross office is seeking volunteers to support and promote workplace safety in our Northern New England offices. Do you enjoy encouraging safety and like working behind the scenes? This could be a great way for you to give back to your community in a meaningful way. Here is what you could do as a Regional Safety Coordinator:
The Regional Safety Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager in their assigned location or geographic area to support and promote safety awareness and activities. The Regional Safety Coordinator will work with the Reginal Chief Operating Officer (RCOO) and Emergency Coordinators (ECs) to nurture a culture of safety in all Red Cross facilities, with the goal of reducing workplace injuries and accidents. He/she/they will participate in safety tasks, including, but not limited to:
- Conduct safety walkthrough and checks within facilities
- Aid the EHS Manager in safety-specific tasks and projects
- Share safety and wellness information when requested
- Participate in Regional Safety Committee meetings
- Participate in Regional Emergency Action Planning Committee
- Participate in scheduled safety training for the coordinator role
- Collaborate with RCOO and ECs to ensure consistent safety messaging and alignment of safety activities across region
In addition to being safety oriented we are seeking someone who is passionate about our Red Cross mission, has at least basic computer skills, and is an effective communicator.
