It only takes a small amount of time to make a big difference in someone else's life. When you volunteer with Hospice you have a tremendous impact on the lives of our patients, their families and friends. Volunteers are an integral part of the hospice team who help provide a comfortable and compassionate end-of-life experience.
We are looking for volunteers who are able to visit with our hospice patients on a weekly basis. Often our caregivers experience burnout and our volunteers are able to offer them a brief break from their responsibilities. Many of our patients also benefit from companionship visits and support offered by volunteers. Volunteer activities have included: Recording and transcribing life history, playing a musical instrument, completing light housework, playing games, and taking walks. Volunteers who are self motivated will do very well in meeting patient needs.
