Volunteering provides a golden opportunity to directly help individuals in your community. Our volunteers deliver much more than a meal! They also deliver warm smiles and much needed safety checks to homebound seniors and adults with disabilities. When you volunteer to deliver weekly meals within Cottage Grove Newport area you will make valued connections with our clients and also assist in helping the client remain independent and maintain a great quality of life. Volunteers assist with delivering weekly frozen meals.
Deliver cheer and TLC along with a weeks worth of meals.
Consider:
1) Delivering meals once a week, every other week or 1 time a month- however this may fit into your purpose. This volunteer opportunity is on Thursdays mid morning to early afternoon.
Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering with Optage Senior Dining program. Senior Dining Choices delivers nearly 40,000 meals per month to the doors of 2,000 or more households in the Twin Cities metro area helping older adults maintain the good daily nutrition necessary for their health and well-being, and supports their choice to remain in their homes.
Volunteers are highly encouraged to become vaccinated for both influenza and COVID-19. If you are above the age of 18 and having issues finding an appointment on your own, we may be able to administer the Johnson and Johnson vaccine to you. Please speak to your volunteer director at the community or program that you volunteer with or email volunteering@preshomes.org. Due to the vulnerability of our residents, unvaccinated volunteers may be asked to participate in opportunities that have limited interaction with residents. Opportunities available may vary by community and program.
Thank you for your continued support and commitment to enriching lives.

Description
Optage Hospice provides compassionate care that focuses on comfort, quality and support for individuals with life-limiting illness, their families and caregivers.
Optage Hospice Volunteers can serve in their community at any of our Presbyterian Homes and Services locations.
For our volunteers, there are a variety of opportunities to assist with our hospice patients. Some examples are: reading; writing letters; painting nails or doing hair; household tasks; wheelchair walks; socializing; pet therapy; music therapy; message therapy.
Just as 1 Corinthians 12 talks about many parts, but one body, each of our volunteers have many jobs, but one purpose - and that is to give back some of the blessings they have been given. We can (and do!) count the number of volunteers who have served, the number of hours that have been given, and even translate those hours into dollars. What is truly immeasurable is the difference that each of the volunteers has made to the residents and staff members. Presbyterian Homes is known for our Christian culture and high quality of life. This reputation has been built and grown over the years due to the volunteers and how they have faithfully served.
