The St. Vincent de Paul Mobile Pantry Program hopes to combat homelessness by delivering nutritious food assistance to those who may have difficulty attending local pantries and meal sites such as senior citizens, refugees, and immigrant populations.

Location and Hours of Operation:

The Mobile Pantry is based out of the St. Vincent de Paul Overland Pantry (3209 W Overland Rd. Boise, ID 83705). However , volunteers are typically asked to meet at the distribution sites. The Mobile Pantry has several distribution locations. For the full month’s schedule, please visit this link .

Tasks:

Mobile Pantry volunteers to help register clients, package and distribute food at low-income housing across Boise, Idaho. Below is a comprehensive list of all tasks volunteers assist with.

  • Help load truck with equipment and supplies for Mobile Pantry at SVdP Pantry (3209 W Overland Rd. Boise, ID 83705)
  • Help set up tables, canopies, for distribution
  • Register clients at distributions and possibly pre-distribution registration events
  • Help portion and bag fresh produce and other food items on the truck making each box/bag fair and equitable
  • Load shopping carts with food boxes/bags
  • Sanitize tables and carts after every use
  • Help with client resource flyers, inserting into food boxes/bags
  • Break down tables, canopies, and load truck at the end of the distribution
  • Help unload the truck at SVdP Pantry (3209 W Overland Rd. Boise, ID 83705)

Schedule:

  • Distributions are weekly on a regular schedule. The distributions are 2 hours long and volunteers are asked to be there 15 minutes early to set up. (2 hours 15 minutes total)
  • Volunteers helping load and unload the Mobile truck will need to meet at SVdP Pantry (3209 W. Overland Rd. Boise, ID 83705) 1 hour early and work 1 hour after distribution ends. (4 hours total)

Together, we prevent homelessness in Southwest Idaho.

Description

St. Vincent de Paul offers a variety of services to provide a hand up to our neighbors in need. We target the basic human needs to stay afloat and avoid homelessness.

Almost all our services are provided on a person to person basis, customized to fit the unique needs of those we serve.

St. Vincent de Paul Southwest Idaho serves everyone in need regardless of race, creed, color, gender, sexual orientation, criminal justice status, disability, marital status, national origin, age, physical handicaps, or political opinions.

When people need help, we’ll be there. St. Vincent de Paul serves everyone. Period.
