We are looking for volunteers to spend time with our participants and guide them through activities. Knowledge of other languages, or unique skills you'd like to share are a plus!

We are open Monday through Friday, and we will take volunteers between 9am - 12pm, and then from 1:30pm - 4:30pm. If interested, please indicate which day(s) and time work best for you.

Volunteer must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and provide documentation of a negative TB test from within the past year. Volunteer must also attend an orientation and fill out brief paperwork before assigning days / times for volunteer work.

Hearts & Minds Activity Center is dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related conditions by providing safe, nurturing activities, intergenerational services, and a rich network of support.

Description

Founded in 1984, Hearts & Minds Activity Center emerged as the first large capacity dementia-specific adult day program in the country. Since its inception, Hearts & Minds has provided services to over 6,000 individuals living with dementia and their families. Our adult day program offers the following:

  • Over 60 weekly hours of caregiver relief

  • Daily intergenerational activities

  • Variety of activities tailored to individual’s impairment level

  • Active peer and multigenerational socialization

  • Secure outdoor space designed for individuals with dementia

  • Shower, podiatry, and haircut services

  • Ongoing community education and support

  • Respite services offered six days per week, Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
