*This volunteer opportunity is for businesses that would like to satisfy social responsibility goals and create a positive community influence as a company.*
Our organization provides resources, meal services, and a sense of community to individuals and families experiencing homelessness and food insecurity. We run almost entirely on the power of our amazing volunteers, who have kept us afloat during the pandemic. Now that we can safely start gathering again, we are excited to reinstate our Corporate Thursdays, under strict safety protocols.
We are looking for small groups to volunteer in- and outside of our kitchen for Thursday meal services. We provide the food, guidance, and environment needed for a fun, engaging, and impactful day of volunteering. This is a great opportunity to satisfy social responsibility goals and create a positive community influence as a company.
To further sustain impact, we ask for a suggested donation of $700.
This monetary support goes towards our programming and includes purchasing food and supplies for our meal services; providing hygiene items for our guests; bagged dinners and grocery deliveries for homeless and food-insecure CPS students, and other initiatives.
Please reach out to Paulina Guerra at cffvco@gmail.com with any inquiries or questions!

Mission Statement
Care for Friends provides easy access to community, food and overall wellness for Chicago’s most vulnerable and under-served people, in an atmosphere of dignity and respect. Through its programs, Care for Friends successfully connects people with community resources to enable them to achieve a better quality of life.
Description
Our flagship program is "Food for Friends" - where we create a safe space for anyone requiring a meal to gather in community for a no-cost hot lunch served in sit-down, family style with dignity and respect.
Other services are available during this gathering time, including haircuts, a health clinic, clothes closet, and toiletries distribution. Additionally, representatives from our various partner organizations begin to make connections with our guests - establishing trusting relationships that will ultimately allow our guests to connect with the services they need to achieve a better quality of life.
