Victorian Cottage

The story of the Victorian Cottage is more than just the 1880s. Even if you have been here before, you will learn more about the history of the house and the people who lived in the cottage in the early 1900s.


Experience the Victorian Cottage in a whole new way, and see Steampunk: Gears, Gadgets, & Garments-An Alternative History of the Victorian Cottage. Docents greet guests and answer questions. Training materials provided.

  • afternoon / 11:30 AM to 04:15 PM
    Friday and Saturdays Only. Volunteer works to greet guests and track numbers and answer questions for the Victorian Cottage Steampunk Exhibit.
  • 03:45 PM to 07:00 PM
    Thursdays Only. Volunteer works to greet guests and track numbers and answer questions for the Victorian Cottage Steampunk Exhibit.

Collection, preservation, interpretation, and presentation of Lombard's history.

Description

The Lombard Historical Society celebrates Lombard's heritage by collecting, preserving, and interpreting the history of Lombard and operates the Victorian Cottage Museum, the Carriage House and the Society’s Archives at 23 W. Maple Street, and the Sheldon Peck Homestead, a National Park Service Underground Railroad Network to Freedom Site, at 355 E. Parkside Avenue in Lombard.

The Lombard Cemetery (formerly Babcock’s Grove Cemetery) is maintained by the Lombard Cemetery Committee which is composed of members from the Lombard Park District, Lombard Historic Commission, Lombard Historical Society, the Lombard Garden Club and the Village of Lombard.
