Event Photographer Needed @ The Crucible
ORGANIZATION: The Crucible
Please visit the new page to apply.
The Crucible is looking for a volunteer photographer with demonstrated experience in event photography to help document our upcoming Youth Summer Camps. In The Crucible’s Youth Summer Camps, students get hands-on learning STEM concepts through the industrial arts, experimenting with different media and techniques, and connecting with creative mentors and new friends. All youth classes have been modified with new health and safety policies in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
We're looking for coverage for the shifts listed below. You do not need to be available for all of these shifts, but please respond with your availability.
June 16, 17, AND/OR 18 - 9:30am-12:00pm
June 23, 24, AND/OR 25 - 9:30am-12:00pm
July 2 - 11:00am-5:00pm (there is a two-hour break that can be used for editing if you'd like; we can either provide a desktop computer or feel free to bring your own laptop)
July 16 - 11:00am-5:00pm
July 23 - 11:00am-5:00pm
July 28, 29 - 4-8pm
July 30 - 11:00am-5:00pm
Volunteer photographers will also be asked to edit their photos, and will receive 2 hours of volunteering credit per 6 hours of shooting.
One of the many cool things about volunteering for summer camp is how quickly you can accumulate credit for classes; volunteering 20 hours for one week of summer camp gets you credit for two, five-week classes or one, 10-week class. These credits last for 2 years, and can be transferred to friends or family. If Interested in Volunteering:
Please email volunteer@thecrucible.org and respond with your availability regarding the shifts above. In your response, please provide examples of past photography work, preferably event photography, by linking to your website or portfolio. Only applicants who provide work examples will be considered. Photographers must provide their own camera.
Thank you for your support!
COVID Safety Precautions:

From cast iron to neon, and from large-scale public art to the most precise kinetic sculpture, The Crucible is fast becoming the best-equipped public industry & arts education facility on the West Coast. The vision of The Crucible is to be one of the premiere art centers in the country: a place where art thrives, is accessible, and inspires everyone in their everyday lives.
