Louisiana Hurricane Ida Relief

All Hands and Hearts

On the 16th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, cities along the Gulf Coast of Louisiana were devastated by Hurricane Ida, which made landfall near Port Fourchon on August 29th. This critically dangerous category 4 hurricane brought winds of 150 mph, destroying buildings, knocking out power and causing widespread flash flooding.

Hurricane Ida then passed over the Northeastern U.S., causing catastrophic levels of rainfall and significant flooding, especially in New York and New Jersey.

All Hands and Hearts is on the ground and ready to support these devastated communities. Now more than ever, your support can assist communities as they can recover from these devastating impacts.

We are responding to the need in Louisiana by committing to a three month initial response program. We are currently accepting volunteer applications with an initial start date as early as Monday, September 13.

Our teams have started our relief work in Ponchatoula and LaPlace, and have already completed one chainsaw worksite. Three teams are currently working in the field; a veteran chainsaw team, a gut and debris removal team, and a team still focused on assessments. We are currently accepting volunteer applications with an initial start date as early as Monday, September 13. If you, or someone you know is interested, learn more about our Hurricane Ida Relief program or apply to volunteer.
