The Area: Career Development Programs

Scholar and a Dream is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of students of color through scholarships, career development, and mentorship. Our Program team is vital in helping our network of high school students accelerate their careers. Behind the scenes, the team is diligently planning, developing and executing career development and enrichment programs for inner city students across the 5-boroughs. We are looking for a highly driven Program Coordinator to join our team.


The Role:

As a Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for executing career development initiatives in alignment to our program roadmap. You will work closely with the Program & Partnership leads to ensure that programs are designed, launched and facilitated successfully.


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Program & Partnership leads to design, launch, and facilitate career development initiatives
  • Organize and coordinate timelines, details and team tasks using project management software
  • Tracking RSVPs and attendees for annual events
  • Collaborate with Marketing team to launch communications through media relations, social media, etc. for upcoming programs
  • Communicate effectively via email, phone and video with internal and external partners
  • Keep all members of the team up-to-date with relevant program information

About you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality, Public Relations or similar, related field
  • 1 year+ of experience in program management, project management, or related field
  • Passionate about giving back to underrepresented communities of color
  • Strong relationship-building skills, both internally and externally
  • Be forward-thinking and materialize ideas into executable plans
  • Excellent planning, time management, and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem solving skills
  • Thrive under pressure during events and periods of quick scaling
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Committed to dedicating 5-10/hours per week (flexible schedule)
