Serving Line
Volunteers cook and serve food for the homeless

We are looking for groups willing to come in and serve a community meal on Sundays to our residential clients and Boston's homeless. On Sunday's our kitchen staff is unavailable and we rely on volunteer groups to provide, prepare, serve and clean up the Sunday Community Meal. Groups find this to be a highly rewarding activity and a wonderful opportunity to interact with the guests at our shelter. Specific details can be provided to interested groups by the volunteer coordinator.

1 Shift

  • 02:30 PM to 07:30 PM
    Estimated time including set up and clean up. Max volunteers is for volunteers actively serving the food.

Description

Since 1899, Boston Rescue Mission, a not for profit Christian organization, has been helping homeless and poverty-stricken people pursue their dreams of a better life. The mission operates Kingston House, one of Boston's oldest continuoulsy running homeless shelters and residential rehabiliation programs. Located in the heart of the Financial District, we provide meals, clothing, training, and service for as many as 200 visitors a day, with capacity to serve as many as 175 overnight guests.
