ORGANIZATION: SUPER SCHOOL INC

SUPER School, Inc., located in the Fountain Square neighborhood in Indianapolis, Indiana, is looking for a
volunteer board member. SUPER School is an innovation school in its 3rd year that operates under the
umbrella of the Indianapolis Public School (IPS) system but is locally managed through a Board of
Directors.

Responsibilities:
* Serve as an ambassador for the values, mission, and vision of SUPER School, Inc.
* Build a collegial working relationship with other board members
* Carry out volunteer responsibilities relevant to current/prior work experience
* Leverage connections, networks, and resources to develop collective action to fully achieve the
organization’s mission
* Stays informed about committee matters, prepares themselves well for meetings, and reviews and
comments on minutes and reports

Board Participation:
* Attend board meetings and board activities
* Actively contribute to the work of the board by annually spearheading at least one project or
committee
* Utilize network, experience and knowledge to further the mission of the organization
* Contribute approximately 4-6 hours per month towards service
* Leverage functional expertise as a contributing member of the board

Experience:
A leader and a professional who works in Indianapolis, has a heart to serve, and a desire to support
education in the local community. Legal, Accounting/Finance or Fundraising experience is preferred but
not required.

Description

SUPER School, Inc is an IPS (Indianapolis Public Schools) Innovation network school with a specific focus on using brain and exercise science to implement action-based learning activities along with developing social-emotional skills. We operate as an IPS school with full autonomy under the leadership of our Head of School, Debbie Garcia, and our Board of Directors. We believe combining action and brain-based learning with social-emotional training will create a positive learning environment that will increase student confidence and well-being as a whole person.
