**IF YOU HAVE VOLUNTEERED BUT NOT HEARD FROM US, PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM FOLDER FOR AN EMAIL. WE ALWAYS RESPOND.**
We are a 501c3 non-profit focused on advancing cord blood education. Our community includes primarily parents, healthcare professionals and students.
We are updating our website to include as much information as possible in Spanish. We have already begun the process of translating a few key articles and videos. We are fortunate because we do have Spanish speakers on our regular staff. However, there is still much to be done. We would like to ask a volunteer to help. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in medicine, stem cells, cancer treatments or regenerative medicine.
We are looking for a volunteer who can translate one of our webpages on cord blood clinical trials from English to Spanish:
- The individual page is relatively short but uses technical, scientific language. Google translate will not work for this type of project. Native/bilingual speaker required.
- The project will be given with an expected turnaround of 4 days maximum for the first draft.
- All work will then be reviewed by our Spanish speaking staff before being posted to the website. There may be a few days of back and forth for corrections.
- No website skills are necessary. This project is for translation only.
- Native or fully bilingual speakers only.
Please indicate your qualifications for translation when responding via VolunteerMatch.

Description
Save the Cord Foundation promotes awareness of the life-saving benefits of cord blood based on unbiased and factual information. The Foundation educates parents, health professionals and the general public about the need to preserve this valuable medical resource while providing information on both public cord blood donation programs and family cord blood banks worldwide.
The world’s first cord blood transplant was performed in 1988 by Dr. Eliane Gluckman in France. Since that time there have been over 35,000 cord blood transplants worldwide. Cord blood stem cells are currently used to treat over 80 different life-threatening diseases such as leukemia, lymphoma and sickle cell anemia. Many public registries (such as Be The Match/NMDP) list cord blood donations alongside bone marrow donors so that patients in need can more easily find a match worldwide. Cord blood stem cells are also proving critical to regenerative medicine to potentially treat cerebral palsy, autism, type 1 diabetes, spinal cord injuries and more.
