Do you like doing fun projects with children? We are looking for two volunteers to work with the Girl Scouts, at the Dave & Barb Skogen Boys & Girls Club, for an hour a week, this July and August.

Girl Scouts provides free summer programming, including the directions and materials for each activity. We deliver one, 60 minute meeting per week. Last summer, for example, we made fake snow, painted a window decoration, made a picture frame and more.

Our in person activities with the children have flexible dates and times. Contact us if you would like to share and lead a small group of girls, this summer.

Mission Statement

Who We Are Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place. Girl Scouts was founded in March of 1912 by Juliette "Daisy" Gordon Low in Savannah, Georgia. She encouraged girls to prepare not only for traditional homemaking, but also for future roles as professional women--in the arts, sciences and business--and for active citizenship outside the home. Dedicated solely to girls in grades K-12 regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation or socioeconomic level, Girl Scouts is the premiere leadership organization offering girls the tools they need to be successful leaders now and throughout their lives. In Girl Scouting, girls Discover themselves and the environment around them, girls Connect with others and build healthy relationships, and girls Take Action by identifying community needs and help make a difference locally & globally.
