ORGANIZATION: The League for the Blind & Disabled

The League for the Blind and Disabled, Inc.

Do you love talking to and listening to people? We have the opportunity for you! The League is funded by donations, grants and the support of the community, and we strive to have the greatest impact to maximize the benefit of this support. To do that, we do regular survey calls to the people we serve to ensure that we are meeting or exceeding their goals, and finding out if there are ways we can improve our service.

These surveys are incredibly important to our ability to report to our federal and state funders as well! We do survey calls throughout the year, so we are looking for someone who can dedicate 2 hours a week or at least 6 hours per month to help us reach our goals to impact and excellent service!

Mission Statement

The League’s mission is to provide and promote opportunities that empower people with disabilities to achieve their potential. Every day, we work towards our vision of full inclusion of people with disabilities in all aspects of community life.

For more than 70 years, The League has been serving people with disabilities in our community. Advocacy is at the heart of everything we do at The League, including systemic advocacy as well as individual advocacy. We teach people with disabilities how to be advocates for themselves and others as well! We serve people of all ages with any type of disability, and most importantly, they are the guide in their goals to independence, while we simply serve as partners to achieving these goals! Our Volunteers empower our mission, service impact, and become part of our passionate team of people serving more than 2700 people every year.
