Join Michigan Education Corps for the 2021-2022 school year as an MEC Math Corps Interventionist and help kids develop basic math and problem solving skills using evidence-based, scripted interventions. As an interventionist, you’ll help struggling students in 4-8 improve their skills and get on track with math. No experience? No problem. With great training and onsite coaching, we’ll prepare you to work with pairs of students to build fundamental math skills and confidence. Join the team that empowers Michigan kids to reach their highest level of academic achievement in reading and math.

Full Time Schedule: Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week. Requires 5 days per week. Position starts 11/8/2021 and ends on 6/4/2022.

Full Time Compensation/Benefits: Benefits include a living stipend of $868.50 biweekly (totaling $1,737 per month), education award of up to $3,172.50 that can be used to repay federal student loans or future education expenses; federal student loan forbearance; health insurance; childcare assistance for those who qualify. Interventionists may elect to complete their Michigan Youth Development Associate (Mi-YDA) Credential.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older by your start date.
  • Must have at least a high school diploma or recognized equivalent by your start date.
  • Must be either a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States.
  • Must pass mandatory pre-service background checks.
  • Must not have served 4 or more prior terms of service with AmeriCorps State or National.

Hope Network provides a continuum of specialized care for those with brain and spinal cord injuries, mental illness, developmental disabilities, substance abuse disorders, and other disadvantages. Our support services include transportation, subsidized housing, case management, community based services, and workforce development.

Hope Networks Volunteer Transportation System (VTS) was founded in 1997 to address the unmet transportation needs of Medicaid and disadvantaged residents in rural areas.
