Volunteers are needed to sponsor or host a Juneteenth Celebration Lunch or Dinner on Saturday, June 19th at New Directions Shelter. Suggested ideas include barbecuing or having a meal catered in to the shelter. (Volunteers are not required to stay and host the meal/event, but are welcome to do so.)
The shelter has a wonderful yard to host the event. In case of rain, the event can be moved inside the large living room and dining room area. Expect 25-40 shelter guests to attend. (We are also looking for a sponsor to provide outdoor games and activities for adults and children on this day.)
Volunteers will need to plan the meal and provide all needed supplies. Suggested time for the event would be lunch time or dinner time.
