Volunteers are needed to host a Juneteenth Celebration on Sunday, June 19th at New Directions Shelter. Suggested ideas include fun outdoor games and activities for adults and children. (Our shelter welcomes 8 families at a time.)
The shelter has a wonderful yard to host the event. In case of rain, the event can be moved inside the large living room and dining room area. Expect 15-20 shelter guests to attend.Volunteers will need to plan the activities and provide all needed supplies. Suggested time for the event would be early afternoon (starting around 1:00pm) or closer to dinner time (starting between 5:00pm-6:30pm) and should last for 60-90 minutes.
To volunteer, contact Missy Reams at mreams@bidwellriverside.org or by phone at 515-244-6251 option 5.
